Event Description
“I FLIPPED MY CLASS: WHAT DID I LEARN IN THE PROCESS?”

Villanova faculty from across the disciplines have incorporated elements of the flipped class in individual lessons, classes, or the entire course with the goal to maximize in-class time for problem-solving, dialogue, discussion, in groups or alone, and with faculty guidance. Content delivery happens prior to class via recorded lectures, readings, digital case studies, or digital simulations. Thus, student out-of-class preparation provides a necessary foundation for active learning in the flipped class. What have we learned in this instructional design process? What instructional decisions did we make and why? How did we align our students out-of-class work with in-class activities? How have our students responded? What have we observed regarding student learning and performance? Join in our discussion of lessons learned as a colleague who has done it or as a colleague who is exploring this learner-centered approach.
