The Relevance of the Franciscan Tradition - IV NEW LOCATION

Event Description
In celebration of 800 years of Franciscan contributions to education, spirituality, peacemaking and ecology, Dr. Kevin Hughes presents his lecture "Between Paris and Assisi: Bonaventure, Franciscan Scholar and Saint."

Dr. Hughes, a Villanova University faculty member since 1997, currently serves as chair of the Humanities Department & Classical Studies Program. He is an associate professor of Theology and Religious Studies and director of the Patristic, Medieval and Renaissance Studies Program.

His research specialties are in ancient and medieval Christian theology, spirituality and history, and his teaching interests are both contemporary and historical. He has an abiding interest in the Franciscan tradition and St. Bonaventure in particular.

The series is part of a six lecture program sponsored by the Office for Mission and Ministry.
